Republican politician, Senator John McCain passed away at his home in Arizona after losing a battle to brain cancer on Saturday evening. “Senator John Sidney McCain III died at 4:28pm on August 25, 2018. With the senator when he passed were his wife Cindy and their family,” his office said in a statement. Senator McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in July 2017 and has been undergoing treatment since then. Police on Saturday arrested four people who are suspected to be conning Kenyans in the name of government tenders. The four men were arrested after presenting fake documents promising to get the complainant a Sh65 million tender to construct an administration block for a school in Sultan Hamud. EACC detectives on Saturday arrested Parklands MCA Jahendra Malde for demanding a Sh5.7 million bribe from Concord Hotel owner. The bribe was meant to hep stop the demolition of the multi million shilling hotel in Nairobi’s Westlands area. Two female MCAs from Murang’a county have been suspended from house proceedings due to breach of regulations. The MCAs, Catherine Wanjiku and Wambui Njoki were suspended on different grounds by the Power and Privileges Committee backed by majority of the assembly. The Energy Regulatory Commission on Friday raided an unlicensed liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plant at Webuye in Bungoma County. Twelve suspects were arrested during the raid and assorted LPG cylinders seized.
