Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has asked Subru Motors to vacate the piece of land along the James Gichuru Road in Lavington which was reserved for construction of a public library. The land, the county boss says the land was allocated to the Nairobi county government by Kenya’s founding father, President Jomo Kenyatta on March 3, 1972 for a lease period of 99 years. Nairobi county has suspended John Ojwang’ from the Urban Planning department for his role in approving buildings built on riparian land. Ojwang’ has according to a letter signed by the Director Governor’s Press Services Elkana Jacob, been asked to show cause within 14 days why disciplinary action should not be taken against him, including losing his job. Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Tuesday announced that petrol prices will rise by Sh1.53 to go for Sh113.73 in Nairobi. Diesel Prices will reduce by Sh0.51 to sell at Sh102.74 while that of kerosene will go down by Sh0.78 to go for Sh84.95 in the capital. Thirty-three Kenya Airways passengers were injured on Tuesday at around 2 AM when a vehicle that was ferrying them from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport got involved in an accident along Mombasa road.
