Nakuru County Assembly today dismissed a motion passed by Biashara ward MCA, Peter Njoroge, to Impeach Nakuru County Assembly speaker Joel Kairu over misuse of office and funds meant for abroad trips. The Ngirita Family cannot raise the Sh.8 Million that will ensure their freedom, the court heard. Kenya Power has set aside Ksh1.63 billion to finance various projects aimed at strengthening the distribution network in the North Rift region which consumes averagely 30GWh every month, to provide adequate and reliable power supply. The region is expected to consume more electricity especially with the setting up of the proposed industrial zone. High Court Justice Onesmus Makau of the Employment and Labour Relations Court has dismissed the case challenging the legality of the Cuban doctors contract with the government. The petition filed by Conrad Maloba and Associates on behalf of three unemployed doctors, argued that Kenyan doctors should be given priority, in line with the Constitution but High Court Justice Onesmus ruled that there was not enough evidence provided to prove that the government violated the law in recruiting them. High Court Justice Hedwig Ong’udi has granted NYS suspects Sh.1 million cash bail or Sh.5 million bond and Sh.2 million surety each. Migori Senator and former Ramogi and KBC radio presenter, Ben Oluoch Okello has passed away. The legislator died while undergoing treatment at M.P Shah Hospital, Nairobi. “He passed on at MP Shah Hospital shortly past midnight after battle with throat cancer,” family spokesperson Mark Okundi told a local daily. Oluoch had sought treatment in India but upon returning for a review, doctors found a tumor that had not healed.
