NYS suspects have complained of starvation in their cells while attending the pre-trial conference at the Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday. One of the accused, Anne Ngirita, through her lawyer Cliff Ombeta, told the court that she was hungry and had had her last meal on Sunday. Kenya Airways has increased its flight frequencies to South Africa to cater for the growing number of customers who travel between Nairobi and Cape Town. There will be three non-stop flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) which will depart from Nairobi on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 3.30 p.m, the national carrier management announced. “In addition to enhancing Africa integration, this new route will be beneficial to the tourism industry as it establishes vital links with our global network.” There are currently 10 weekly flights to Cape Town. Money meant for Nairobi County Bursary fund has been traced to an offshore account held by Maryland University in Australia. The Sh.297 million reportedly remained in the account for over a month. “People took the money and deposited it in Maryland’s account for over a month before the money came. Stalls and kiosks near Moi Girls Secondary School were on Tuesday morning brought down by city hall officials. The businesses worth millions of shillings around Makina area, Kibera Constituency were demolished as they reportedly sit on the road reserve.
