Stalls and kiosks near Moi Girls Secondary School were on Tuesday morning brought down by city hall officials.
The businesses worth millions of shillings around Makina area, Kibera Constituency were demolished as they reportedly sit on the road reserve.
The area was a no-go zone as the traders engaged armed police officers in running battles. Shots were also fired but no injuries reported.
“We did not rape any girl at Moi Girls School and this action is only going to bring back insecurity in this area which has been peaceful,” a trader told a local daily.

There has been a lot of drama around the area starting Sunday after a form two student was reportedly raped within the school compound.
Parents, alumnae held demonstrations on Monday morning as they sought to oust the school principal, Jael Mureithi. Male teachers and workers have since been ordered to give DNA samples as authorities probe the unfortunate incident.
