NASA supremo Raila Odinga has landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after being away for 10 days for political engagements in the US and UK. He was scheduled to arrive on Friday afternoon from United Kingdom but was reportedly in Dubai, hence the morning arrival. Police are dispersing crowds near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The NASA/ NRM supporters are awaiting their ‘commander’s’ return, Raila Odinga later on in the day. North Airport near Taj Mall crowds have reportedly gone on rampage and set a blaze three vehicles one believed to be a military vehicle. Kenyatta University (KU) has been(Friday, 17th) closed indefinitely following ‘the continuing nationwide lecturers’ strike that has adversely affected academic activities and heightened agitation among the students. In a memo dated 16, November 2017, the students had been asked to vacate premises by 9 am this morning(Friday.) But word has it that there were protests within the campus on Thursday night after one of their own was hit by a boda boda rider and her body dumped on the road side. Suspects behind the shooting of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s bodyguard have been positively identified and the pistol used recovered. The two men were apprehended in Nairobi’s Dandora area and another pistol found on them. They are suspected to have shot the DCJ’s bodyguard, Constable Titus Musyoka around Marsabit Plaza on October 24, 2017. Musyoka had just dropped off the lady justice at her Karen home when the attack happened. He was shot three times with one bullet lodged in his chest. NASA Politicians Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Steve Mbogo (Starehe MP aspirant) and TJ Kajwang (Ruaraka) have been arrested along Ngong road. The three who were taken to Kilimani Police Station are said to have been making their way to Jamhuri grounds after the police sealed off Kamkunji grounds where the opposition was going to hold a mega rally. National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters and leaders are a stranded lot after police have this afternoon (Thursday 16th)sealed off Kamukunji and Jamhuri grounds thus denying them  ‘dress rehearsal’ rally. Initially, the rally was scheduled for The Kamukunji grounds but were were cordoned off by armed police forcing the opposition to change venues to Kibra’s Jamhuri grounds. The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has ordered that the late Nyeri Governor, Wahome Gakuru’s driver be released on a ‘reasonable police bond.’ The driver, Samuel Kinyanjui was arrested on Wednesday and held at Makuyu police station. He was to set be arraigned in court today (16th November)but is said to have never left the police car that took him there. Mr Kinyanjui was facing charges of killing the late Gakuru through dangerous driving but the DPP declined to confirm the charges due to the ‘nature and gravity’ of the matter. The opposition has been forced to cancel its ‘dress rehearsal’ rally ahead of NASA leader, Raila Odinga’s grand return from his UK, US trips. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is unsettled over the ‘new evidence’ former county boss, Dr Evans Kidero wants to introduce to the case challenging his win, so much so that he prayed about it. Kidero, who lost to Mr. Mbuvi on August 8 says he has in his possession evidence that will aid the court in reaching a fair decision. Former Kirinyaga County gubernatorial aspirant Martha Karua will not support Deputy President William Ruto should he run for presidency in 2022, she revealed. Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has suspended studies indefinitely. The institution of higher learning has been shut down indefinitely and students residing in the Juja main campus were advised to vacate premises. The move was caused by unresolved conflict pitting management against students. The aggrieved learners are said to have gone on strike they claim was instigated by “ignorance by the management” according to a letter by Student leaders to fellow comrades. A Siaya High Court judge has warned Governor Cornel Rasanga and petitioner former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo against bribing an officer of the state. Judge Esther Maina asked both parties to stop sending proxies to her office with the intent of getting a favorable ruling.
