The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has ordered that the late Nyeri Governor, Wahome Gakuru’s driver be released on a ‘reasonable police bond.’
The driver, Samuel Kinyanjui was arrested on Wednesday and held at Makuyu police station. He was to set be arraigned in court today (16th November)but is said to have never left the police car that took him there.
Mr Kinyanjui was facing charges of killing the late Gakuru through dangerous driving but the DPP declined to confirm the charges due to the ‘nature and gravity’ of the matter.
