Attorney General Githu Muigai consented to the enhancements in his compensation. Former Bomet Governor, Isaac Rutto has opened up about his backing Jubilee presidential candidate, Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid. The Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader defected from the Raila Odinga led NASA camp but has denied joining the President’s party. ODM Kajiado Central Mp, Elijah Memusi is a man afraid for his life following threats from a government official. Memusi has accused Kajiado County Commissioner Harmasa Kello of sending him threatening text messages. Speaking outside the Parliament Police Station after recording a statement, the legislator said Kello had hired hit men to kill him. ”Kello instructed an officer to trail me in Nairobi and shoot me. Embakasi East Mp, Babu Owino has been charged with causing harm to one Joshua Otieno Obiende on August 8, 2017 who was also vying for the parliamentary seat on an ANC ticket. Paul Ongili as he is otherwise known is said to have injured Mr Obiende, a voter at the Soweto Social Hall in Kayole. His and Kalonzo Musyoka’s bodyguards were recalled on Tuesday without notice, said the former Prime Minister. NASA coalition has condemned the re-arrest of Embakasi East Mp, Paul Ongili otherwise known as Babu Owino shortly after his release on bail. The opposition has accused the government of resorting to ‘persecution, banditry and torture tactics where application and observation of the rule of law’ would do. Principal Secretary Public Works Mariam El Maawy is dead. The PS was undergoing treatment in South Africa following an attack by the Al Shabaab in July. Ms El Maawy was abducted at Milihoi along the Mpeketoni-Lamu road where she was shot in the shoulder and legs. The Public Works PS lost her nephew, a trainee pilot during the attack. She was rescued by a team of Kenya Defense Forces and the General Service Unit, some of whom lost their lives and others abducted. NASA flag bearer, Raila Odinga has said that he will call for economic boycott of companies that he believes were involved in ‘sabotaging’ his election and the interests of Kenyans.
