The Maasai people who are also workers at the plant were protesting against poor working conditions, poor payment and harassment by foreigners who work in the same organization. A Jubilee campaign car was hijacked by the Al Shabaab militants on Saturday in Mandera. The incident forced negotiations with the area Somalia elders. University going students have turned to selling their eggs in exchange for money. According to the Nairobian, the young ladies are having their eggs harvested for 30,000. They say the allowance from their parents is just not enough to maintain their city lifestyles. Apart from unemployment, they have said that the high cost of living forced them into the eggs harvesting in one of Nairobi’s IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) clinic. CS Fred Matiang’i has ordered Kenyatta University and Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology (JKUAT) close their Rwanda and Tanzania campuses. The directive comes a day after the Tanzania Commission for Universities listed the two institutions of higher learning among 17 institutions that did not meet the set standards. Jubilee party offices in Kisumu were on Thursday destroyed by angry residents claiming the party officials were trying to rig the August poll. According to the youths present during the protests, Jubilee party officials were buying national identity cards from the locals in a bid to rig in their preferred candidate.
