The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is experiencing system failure in its online tax filing system, which has seen Kenyans experience difficulties while filing returns. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has threatened to auction equipment and machinery owned by Italian firm CMC Di Ravenna, held at the Mombasa port. CMC Di Ravenna is the contractor in the middle of the Kimwarer and Arror dams saga in Elgeyo Marakwet, where taxpayers lost over Ksh21 billion. Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua’s YouTube account has been suspended after allegedly showing videos “curing” homosexuals. A UK based human rights group, OpenDemocracy filed a lawsuit after reviewing seven of the videos shared between 2016 and 2020. Joshua, who is a popular preacher in Africa, had over 1.8 million subscribers on his account. He said he is appealing against YouTube’s decision. Three nursing homes have been fined Ksh500,000 each over adverts claiming they could offer home-based ICU care. The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Council said that Apex Home Healthcare, Utunzaji Home and Nursing Care, and Wholistic Nursing Care are not registered to cater for such sensitive equipment to save lives. “They shall each pay a penalty fine of Sh500,000 each to the Council within 14days from today,” said Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council CEO Daniel Yumbya. The Central Bank of Kenya has agreed with the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) to have fallen Chase Bank (CBK) liquidated, following several audit gaps reported early this year. Microsoft edge is adding a Kids Mode on its Edge browser to help parents control how their children navigate the internet. The feature comes as an option built into Microsoft Edge for Windows and OS.
