Anti-narcotics detectives have arrested thirty-three Nigerians in Kasarani for illegally residing in the country. The men, who were nabbed on Thursday morning, are stated to have been living in the place where the detectives found them. The anti-narcotics officers were however pursuing leads on an incident in which drugs were being sent from Nairobi to other parts of the world when they arrested the Nigerians. A man on Wednesday killed his wife in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. According to his neighbors, the man is reported to have injured the wife on the neck using a kitchen knife. The neighbors added that the couple had engaged in a domestic fight prior to him picking up a knife and killing his wife, identified as Khanali Mwonobe. Former director of Kenya Reinsurance Corporation (Kenya Re) Johnson Jackson Gathaka has been sentenced to two years in prison or a fine of Ksh15 million over fraud. Mr Gathaka was found guilty by the anti-corruption court of stealing Ksh7.26 million. The anti-corruption court found that Gathaka fraudulently obtained Ksh7.26 million paid by United Insurance Corporation to Kenya Re. Police have arrested a lady who allegedly kidnapped a two-month old baby and asked for a Ksh11,000 ransom from the parents. According to reports, the 24-year old lady, Sharon Chepkoech, who was working as a maid, is said to have taken the baby from Zimmerman estate in Nairobi. A police reservist is currently under police custody after he allegedly shot and killed his colleague under unclear circumstances. Confirming the incident, Mandera County Police Commander Jeremiah ole Kosiom noted that the reservist in custody, Mohamed Billow Sheikh, is being interrogated. An Indian Court has sentenced a Kenyan student to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a Kenyan woman in 2016. A postmortem examination on Evelyn Namukhula, mother who delivered five babies in March, carried on Monday has revealed the cause of her death. According to the autopsy conducted at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she succumbed on Saturday evening, divulged that Namukhula died of peripartum cardiomyopathy, a heart condition that affects women after delivery. The pathologist, Benson Macharia, who conducted the autopsy noted that there was fluid on the mother’s chest, heart, lungs and abdominal cavity, indicators that were consistent with the heart condition. South African based Zimbabwean Brighton Moyo, who was controversially raised from the dead by South African Pastor Alph Lukau in February, has died for real. According to reports, Moyo died last week in St Luke’s South Africa and was buried this past Saturday.
