Mrs Jeniffer Cianjagi Njuki succumbed on February 11, 2019 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. A staff of Development Finance Company (DFC) bank in Uganda was on Tuesday sexually assaulted by robbers during their raid. According to her colleagues, the three were winding up of the day’s business when the four unidentified men walked in and ordered them to show them the safe. The robbers are reported to have assaulted the trio demanding for the keys to the safe in vain. The Court of Appeal on Tuesday upheld the death sentence imposed on a woman and her five relatives by Lady Justice Florence Muchemi. The three appellate judges Philip Waki, Roselyn Nambuye and Patrick Kiage asserted that the killing of David Macharia on June 12, 2004 was a premeditated cold-blood killing. The judges upheld the sentence against the wife Anne Waithera Macharia, her sister Ruth Wanjiru Maina, David Njoroge Kimotho, Joseph Kinyuru Kirumbi, Eliud Kimani Mwai and her son Joseph Macharia Maina. Indonesian government authorities on Tuesday arrested a Tanzanian man, Abdul Rahman Asman in Bali, after more than a kilogram of drugs was found inside his stomach. According to the immigration officials, Abdul Rahman Asman was arrested while on the holiday island at their international airport in January. They revealed that they found some 99 plastic bags filled with white powder that the suspect had presumably swallowed, mentioned to be more than a kilogram of methamphetamine. Members of the Tharaka Nithi County Assembly on Tuesday impeached the assembly’s deputy speaker, Ms Susan Ngugi. The MCAs defied a court order issued yesterday against the impeachment of Ms Ngugi. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, on Tuesday, assured County workers that he would see to it that their salaries are increased as stipulated and agreed upon in the 2017 Collective Bargain Agreement. Activist Okiya Omtatah has filed an affidavit to High Court in a bid to challenge the state appointments by President Uhuru Kenyatta, last week. According to Omtatah, the appointments to Board of State Corporations have not been done on merit as had been directed by the court. Seven months after his deportation, controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna, has filed a case against international airline Emirates as well as the Kenya Airports Authority. Through his lawyer John Khaminwa, the self-proclaimed leader of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) filed the affidavit to the High Court of Kenya seeking damages from the two entities for allegedly colluding with the government for his unlawful detention. A family in Leleshwa village, Ol Moran area of Laikipia is mourning the death of their son who mauled to death by a hyena. The 12-year old boy was killed as the parents and neighbors watched helplessly when a rogue hyena tore the boy to pieces.
