CCK has accepted the demands of the three mobile phone operators, Yu, Zaina and Orange and has reduced the 3G spectrum fees to 10 Million Dollars. This news is bringing problems with Safaricom CEO issuing statements from UK where he is on official duties. Michael Joseph wants a refund of the difference between what the dominant player paid and what the other players are going to pay. I find this funny because we would also like to demand that Safaricom refunds to the Kenyan government the money they have made from the 3G services.

The station has a new face with its brownish colour still visible but with a new catch phrase, “Kenya is watching”.After launching in digital, the station sees it best to keep up which the current hence the metamorphosis. The Editor-in-Chief, Waithaka Waihenya, calls it a call to keep up with the trends while MD, David Waweru calls it a re-birth. Safaricom 7s started yesterday and I was worried that I had too much on my hand I might not be able to attend. But thanks to Safaricom and Supersport, the event is live on Livestream. I am able to watch the event from my sitting room. K24 has the event live yes but the quality is not that great. It would be great to hear the kind of traffic the stream generated for Safaricom onto their website.

Family Bank has joined in the mobile phone banking  market with a baby named ‘Pesa pap!’ The service seems to be aimed straight at Equity Bank and barclays bank which both have very serious products in the sector. The service is enable bulk remittance payments including salaries disbarment, borrowing loans and also cater for paying bills through the use of the mobile phones.
