Google has announced that it is investing in the Lake Turkana Wind Power project in Northern Kenya. This will be Google’s second clean energy investment in Africa. The first one was the Jasper Solar Power project in South Africa, where it invested more than $12 million. Google is committing $2 billion to support 22 clean energy projects in the world. Kenyan security officers who are guarding the Somali border are being paid a measly daily allowance of Ksh 600. According to KDF and NYS officers who are stationed along the border and overseeing the building of the wall, most of those who were sent to the border on February 27th to guard the building of the wall along the border have not been paid since March. Masaba Hospital founder Dr Geoffrey Joel Momanyi, the man remembered to have killed the career of Justin Muturi in the courts, died and will be buried this weekend. Dr Momanyi and his late wife, Felgona sued Muturi after they recorded him demanding Ksh 1 million bribe to rule in their favour in a corruption case lodged against them by the NHIF. According to The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal the Inflation nightclub in Melbourne cancelled four gigs of Anthony Obudho aka Dj Kwenda because nothing but his skin colour arguing that Africans who frequented his gigs were likely to misbehave. The Kenyan government has launched the eVisa portal to address the needs of travelers who wish to come into the country. The website which is developed by the same company behind ecitizen.go.ke, Webmasters, will see all foreigners travelling into Kenya process their visas through the portal. Nationals from 17 countries will however not be able to process their visas online but will have to physically appear at a Kenyan consulate. A Zimbabwean man has been arrested for committing bestiality with a donkey and injuring it. According to media reports, Decent Vee Mulilo (23) allegedly had carnal knowledge with the donkey on August 27 in a place called Gobojango. The donkey reportedly suffered knee injuries during the sexual act. Mulilo was produced before a magistrate court where charges were read out to him. The case will next be heard on September 15.
