Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu Babayo will remain in custody after the High Court dismissed his latest attempt to secure bail pending appeal after filing a fresh application. Waititu is serving a 12-year sentence at Kamiti Maximum Prison following his February 2025 conviction by the Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court. A 60-year-old South African man was found dead in his washroom where he collapsed on Wednesday May 7 morning in Parklands, Nairobi.
