Detectives are investigating an incident in which a mother and her adult son were found dead in the same room after a suspected suicide drama in Athi River, Machakos County. Five suspects arrested over the murder of Molo-based activist Richard Haga Otieno have been named. They include bodaboda riders Clinton Simantu alias Muiru and ⁠Peter Mwaniki alias Pinchez. The riders operate in Molo Town and are said to have ferried the hit men to and from Elburgon town on January 18 when the activist was killed. The third suspect was named as Jorim Ngonga Sura who police said was among three attackers who killed the deceased. The other suspects were identified as Geoffrey Mavado and John Ndegwa. There were 773 bodies in hospital morgues in and around the eastern Congolese city of Goma as of January 30 following this week’s offensive by Rwanda-backed M23 rebels, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s health ministry said on Saturday. US President Donald Trump has announced sweeping new tariffs on all goods imported from America’s three largest trading partners, China, Mexico and Canada. Four students are among six people who were Saturday February 1 killed in an accident on the Wundanyi-Mwatate road in Taita Taveta County.  Police said the four students are from Dr Aggrey Boys’ High School in Wundanyi constituency, Taita Taveta County and were killed after the bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident.
