A Nairobi court Monday stopped on temporary basis the planned deployment of police officers to Haiti for peace keeping mission. Justice Chacha Mwita stopped interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki from deploying the police until a case filed by Thirdway Alliance. “A conservatory order is hereby issued restraining the respondents from deploying police officers to Haiti or any other country until 24th October 2023,” read part of the order. Two people were killed in two separate fire incidents in Nairobi and Limuru. The deceased include a minor aged two who was among 40 children at a private children’s home. During the incident in Dagoretti, Nairobi, 39 other children were evacuated, police said. The fire broke out at Mary Faith children’s home along Ngotho Road.
