A Chinese national was arrested after being accused of attempting to smuggle more than 2,000 queen garden ants out of the country. Zhang Kequn was intercepted during a security check at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after authorities discovered a large consignment of live ants in his luggage bound for China. A female bar attendant was fatally stabbed in an argument with a suspect believed to be her boyfriend outside a bar in Ruiru, Kiambu County. A Polish tourist who was on transit to Ethiopia was arrested after he was found distributing bhang to locals at a bus stop in Marsabit Town. Police said the man was arrested after locals tipped authorities he was distributing sticks which they believed were bhang. A search on his car saw the recovery of 24 similar sticks, police said. The body of a girl aged one and eight months was found drowned in a river in Musanda, Kakamega County. Police said the body was found on Wednesday floating on river Lusumu long after she had died. A 70-year-old man died after a wall collapsed on him during the demolition of a house in Suna West, Migori County. Police said the incident occurred on Monday evening at Bishop Oginda area as workers were demolishing an old semi-permanent house in preparation for new construction.
