At least one person was on Monday morning killed while dozens were injured after a bus crashed onto vehicles on Valley Road, Nairobi. According to preliminary reports, the bus lost control while descending Valley Road before crashing into several vehicles. This trapped many drivers and passengers who were in the vehicles, police said. The area is hilly and most of the buses using it at times get stuck. A five-year-old boy died after he and three other children were attacked by a swarm of bees while playing at their home in Nyamila Village in Kakamega County. The incident occurred on Sunday at around 3:30 p.m. when the four children were playing within their compound in Ishikalame Sub-location and they were suddenly attacked by bees. The children were rescued and rushed to St Irene Hospital Musanda for treatment in serious condition. Police in Ruai, Nairobi, rescued 17 Ethiopian nationals, most of them believed to be minors, during a raid on a residential house in the township. About 20 others managed to escape the scene. According to police, officers from the Kenya Police Service attached to Ruai Sub-County acted on a tip-off from members of the public and raided the house located near New Ruai Family Hospital. A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier and a woman were found dead following a shooting incident at Kirimon Military Camp in Laikipia County. Officials at the facility said they heard gunshots coming from the officers’ accommodation block at around 5:20 a.m Sunday. Families searching for relatives or friends missing after the devastating flash floods that struck Nairobi have been urged to visit the Nairobi City Mortuary to help identify victims. Of the 28 bodies recovered, only one was identified, officials said.
