Gilgil MP Martha Wangari has taken her estranged husband Peter Karanja to court, wanting him to keep off their children due to his criminal case. In petition filed by Ms Wangari before Chief Magistrate Joseph Karanja, the legislator wants the court to compel Mr Karanja to pay monthly upkeep for their children amounting to Sh270,000. A total of 174 schools have been closed down in Nyanza since the commencement of closing unsafe schools that began two weeks ago. According to statistics, Kisii County is leading with 52 institutions closed down followed closely by Migori with 42. This has ignited the wrath of parents whose children failed to report to the alternative proposed schools, hence staging protests against the order by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha. The Catholic Church is investigating a Samburu case where a Kenyan man says he was sired by missionary priest, who impregnated his mother at the age of 16. According to Gerald Erebon aged 30 years, he was sired by Reverend Mario Lacchin, an 83-year-old Italian priest from the Consolata Missionaries  who ministered in 1980s. Five media houses in Uganda could be closed by the government and their licenses revoked for covering political rallies staged by Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine. The media Houses including NTV, NBS, BBS, Bukedde TV and Radio Sapientia were allegedly found guilty by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) of breaching the minimum standards required in broadcasting. 26 year old Lucy Kanira from Nakuru County set ablaze using petrol by husband has died in hospital. Kanira died at Nakuru Level Five Hospital where she was recuperating from 25 percent burn bruises that were inflicted during the incident. Justice Stephen Radido of the Employment and Labor Relations Court has issued an order baring the swearing in of the National Land Commission’s (NLC) newly appointed bosses. 13 people have been confirmed dead and several others injured after an Eldoret Express bus collided with a truck. The accident took place at around 11.30PM at Pala, three kilometres from Awasi Trading Center in Kisumu County. Kisumu County Deputy Governor Mathews Owili is facing eviction over rent arrears amounting to about Sh3.5 million.
