Three people who were siphoning fuel from an overturned tanker in Kipkaren have died. This has been confirmed by Lugari Sub-County Police Commander Benard Ngungu who indicated that the three died after inhaling petrol fumes from the tanker. Efforts to trace the car that was used in the alleged abduction of blogger Dennis Itumbi have been unsuccessful, police have revealed. In new developments, detectives revealed that the details given by eye witnesses in the saga do not match those in official records. Thus, it is impossible to trace the owner of the said car. A manhunt has been launched for a police officer who fatally shot a colleague in Naivasha. According to the Star, Corporal Joseph Muthunga is on the run after shooting and killing his Senior, sergeant Ayub Polo following an argument. 2 people have succumbed to Covid-19 bringing the cumulative fatalities to 5,359. Today, 3,749 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after 11,460 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 281,358. Kenya has confirmed 2,964 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 9,082 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 277,609. The Salaries and Renumeration Commission (SRC) now claims that judges and magistrates are using intimidation tactics to secure salary increments. According to SRC, the Judges and Magistrates Association is using courts to its advantage to intimidate the commission as well as force them to do things in their favour which is against the constitution. Citing the ruling by Justice Stephen Radido that had labelled the commission as discriminatory following failure to provide, Magistrates and Kadhis with security allowances and failure to review non-practising allowances, SRC says the association wants to paralyze its mandates. Kenyans will breathe a sign of relief after the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) announced they will start enjoying lower call rates as from next year.
