Property of unknown value was on Wednesday morning destroyed after a fire gutted Busia County finance offices. The 2am inferno was confirmed by Busia County Communications Director Winnstone Mbada. Photos seen by Kahawa Tungu reveal that most of the documents in the offices were burnt to a crisp. The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has placed troubled Mumias Sugar Company under receivership. KCB appointed Ponangipalli Venkata Ramana Rao of Tact Consultancy Services as the loss-making sugar company’s receiver-manager. KCB is one of the many creditors owed billions by Mumias. Murdered Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen has finally been laid to rest at the Jewish cemetery, Nairobi. The late businessman’s burial, which was to take place on Monday afternoon, was postponed to Tuesday after the family failed to get enough Jewish priests to preside over the ceremony.
