Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) on Monday arrested West Pokot County Secretary Michael Parklea alongside three other top county officials over irregular purchase of maize. The other three include Ms Alice Jepkosgei (procurement officer), Mr Elvis Mwanga (ICT officer) and Mr Titus Mayech (County Voucher Inspector). Over 3,600 Chief camps in Kenya will now be turned to modern police posts following the transfer of more than 23,000 Administration Police Service officers to the Kenya Police Service in mass changes. The changes, which were announced by the National Police Service Board following a meeting on Wednesday last week, are in accordance with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to merge police units last year. Detectives probing the death of City lawyer Karanja Kabage, which occurred on Friday night, have revealed that a sample of vomit recovered from the deceased’s car will aid the police with investigations. According to the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, Mr Kabage was driving a black Land Cruiser VX along the Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni towards Kikuyu when the vehicle veered off the road. Six students from Usenge High School in Siaya County are in police custody after  jerrycan of petrol was recovered from their dormitory on Saturday evening. A match box was also found in one of their boxes. The police believe the petrol was to be used in burning the school. Kenyan football legend Joe Kadenge is dead. According to family members, Kadenge passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the Meridian hospital in Nairobi. He died at the age of 84 having been sick for a while. “Dad has not been in good shape. He had complications in breathing and his sight was also failing. Nicholas Moipei, the father of the famous Moipei Quartet sisters, was on Friday found guilty of contempt of court. In a ruling delivered by Justice Stephen Radido of the Employment and Labour Relations Court, Moipei was found guilty of disobeying a valid court order by illegally dismissing then Kenya Cultural Center acting Chief Executive Officer Edwin Gichangi. “After considering all the facts placed before it, the court comes to the conclusion that Nicholas Moipei was in contempt by willfully disobeying a valid court order he was aware of,” Justice Radido ruled.
