Kiambu Principal Magistrate Bryan Khaemba has reportedly resigned following his indefinite suspension over gross misconduct on Thursday. Seven Chinese nationals were on Wednesday arrested in Nairobi’s popular Gikomba market for engaging illegally in trading activities. Following their arrest, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has since signed their deportation orders. Britain has appointed Jane Marriot as its High Commissioner to Kenya. Marriot, the current director of the United Kingdom’s Joint International Counter-Terrorism unit, becomes the first woman to be appointed by Britain as envoy to Kenya. Ten applicants have been shortlisted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in the race to succeed former Commission CEO Ezra Chiloba. Eight soldiers from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) are nursing injuries at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital after a truck they were traveling in overtuned on the Nairobi-Kangundo Highway. Confirming the Wednesday accident, Matungulu OCPD Isaac Thuranira said the truck, en route to Kangundo from Nairobi, was carrying 18 soldiers. 10 soldiers escaped unhurt during the accident.
