Self-declared National Resistant Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna on Wednesday divulged the suffering he endured in Kenyan police cells after he was arrested for swearing-in opposition Chief Raila Odinga as the People’s President on January 30, 2018. Self-styled National Resistant Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna has accused Citizen TV editors of editing out the gist from his interview with the stations anchor Jeff Koinange. Chief Justice David Maraga has been added on the list of leaders entitled to  special clearance on the roads. This is following public outcry on why the third arm of government was not included on the list of VIPs released on Wednesday by Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai. Chief Justice David Maraga will now be expected to follow normal traffic flow just like most Kenyans. In a statement released on Wednesday by the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, the CJ, all 47 county governors and most cabinet secretaries were left out in the list of leaders entitled to special treatment on roads and highways during traffic snarl ups. The World Bank has granted Kenya Ksh75 billion for budgetary support even as experts warn over the country’s rising debt and its ability to service the loans with a big chunk of its revenues being lost to corruption. A CCTV footage has revealed what might have led to the death of Eldoret Governor Jackson Mandagor’s brother John Kinyor, authorities say. Kinyor’s lifeless body was found in an incomplete building at Chepkanga market which is 10 kilometers from Eldoret town. President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed law enforcement agencies to tame rising cases of cold blood killings in the country. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has been given a green light to collect more than Ksh2.7 billion monthly tax on withholding taxes on winnings from betting firm SportPesa. In a statement on Monday, KRA announced that the move follows a ruling delivered on May 23, by Milimani Commercial Courts Chief Magistrate, Peter Gesora, allowing the tax man to collect the monthly tax on winnings from betting games on the Sportpesa platform among others, that have been failing to withhold tax on winnings. Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit have rescued a four-year-old girl who had been kidnapped in Utawala, Nairobi. The baby was rescued from a hideout in Machakos after the kidnappers demanded a Ksh. 1 million ransom for her release. The family of Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o is in mourning following the death of their mother. Mama Dorcas died at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi on Tuesday, where she was receiving treatment. At the time of her passing, Mama Dorcas was 98 years old. The High Court has declared a directive banning outdoor gambling and betting advertisements unconstitutional. The ban, which was to take effect on May 30, was issued by the Betting Control and Licencing board in bid to control gambling addiction especially by the youth in the country. According to Justice John Mativo, the ban was tainted with illegality and unreasonableness and procedural impropriety. The bail ruling on an application filed by Naftali Kinuthia, the sole suspect in the gruesome murder of Moi University student Ivy Wangechi, will be delivered on June 17.
