Police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found on the roadside in Naivasha Town, Nakuru County.

The victim was identified as Joseph Ajon, 35. The motive of the murder was not immediately established. His car, a Volkswagen Tiguan, grey in color, was found abandoned a few meters away from where his body lay, police said of the March 3 incident.

Police said they were called and informed of the incident long after it had happened. The body lay in an open field a few meters away from Naivasha-Maimahiu highway with multiple injuries in the ears and thighs.

The body had a wrist watch and cap on it and a pool of blood a few meters away.

The body was moved to the mortuary while the car was towed to the local mortuary pending other investigations. Police believe the victim was driven to the scene and killed there.

A team revisited the scene and combed the car for possible clues on the killers.

Elsewhere, a middle-aged woman was killed in a domestic fight with her husband in a village in Maralal, Samburu County.

Police said Seiye Lenchalote was found on the floor and unconscious after the assault on March 3 and rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to the injuries.

Doctors said she had injuries in the chest inflicted by what the woman said was a rungu.

The assailant escaped the scene soon after the incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Elsewhere in Kinna, Isiolo County, police are investigating murder after a human skull was found in a grazing field. A herder reported he spotted the skull in the Sabanza area while he was taking care of his goats.

The other body parts were missing when the skull was found, police said when they arrived at the scene. There were suspicions the victim was attacked and devoured by wild animals from the nearby Meru National Park.

The skull was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures, police said.
