Three senior Somalia government officials were left stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after officials denied them entry for lack of visas. The three, junior Minister of Water and Energy Osman Libah, legislators Ilyas Ali Hassan and Zamzam Dahir, were part of a delegation scheduled to attend a European Union sponsored conflict management programme on Tuesday. According to reports, the delegation had diplomatic passports with them but government representatives at the JKIA couldn’t allow them in. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has re-advertised the Chief Executive Officer position months after calling for applications. According to reports, few Kenyans had applied for former CEO Ezra Chiloba’s job prompting the commission to re-advertise it. The High Court has temporarily halted a directive banning celebrities from endorsing betting services, pending determination of a case opposing the move. The ban, which was to take effect on May 30, was issued by the Betting Control and Licencing board in bid to control gambling addiction especially by the youth in the country. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has ordered for deportation of foreigners involved in illegal gambling business in the country. Speaking during a Betting and Licencing Board stakeholders forum in Nairobi, Matiang’i noted that his ministry will on Monday issue deportation orders for all foreigners operating gambling business without relevant work permits. A seven-year-old boy was on Sunday night killed in Matungu area, Kakamega County, after an attack by unknown assailants. Google has dealt a major blow to Chinese telecommunication giant Huawei after cutting business ties that requires the transfer of hardware, software and technical services except those publicly available via open source licensing. Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been released from police custody. His release  came shortly after the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji ordered immediate release of the senator and former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa. Nakuru Town East Member of parliament David Gikaria has been released from police custody following a dramatic arrest on Saturday. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested six suspected notorious criminals in Kilimani, Nairobi. The six were arrested on Saturday evening after violent robbery in Kitengela. Chief Justice David Maraga on Friday warned judges against allowing suspects to wear hoodies and sunglasses in court to cover their faces, saying it promotes impunity.
