A 30-year old man died on Wednesday morning hours after checking into a local lodging in Rongo, Migori County. Collins Odhiambo, is said to have been in the company of his 27-year-old girlfriend Donnah Anyango at the time of the incident. According to Ms Anyango, the man developed breathing difficulties shortly after making love at Maserena Bar and Lodging in Rongo Town. Odhiambo reportedly passed on shortly after he was rushed to Rongo Sub-County Hospital. A chief who recently gave an update of the drought situation in Baringo is no longer a government official, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i has said. Detectives drawn from the office of Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have impounded two vehicles belonging to a Nairobi county government official. In a tweet, the DCI said the vehicles – Range Rover and Mercedes Benz – were using Motorbike registration numbers KBN 591A and KBG 330E respectively. A 16-year-old boy killed his mother’s lover on Monday night after he allegedly bumped into the duo making love. The incident occurred at Ririat Village in Bureti Constituency within Kericho county. The Form One student at Kabarus Day Secondary School is said to have reached for a knife after an argument ensued between him and the 60-year-old man. “After killing the man, the boy’s mother screamed. A woman in Busia has accused an officer from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KenHA)of invading her privacy in bid to serve her with a demolition order. A high ranking judge at the Supreme Court of Kenya Justice Jackton Ojwang has reportedly declined to appear before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to respond to bribery allegations against him. New audit report has exposed the rot in county governments with inaccuracies amounting to billions of shillings thriving in a number of counties. In the new findings, Auditor-General Edward Ouko has revealed that county governments cannot account for Sh108 billion which can be directly linked to pending bills. Slain Dusit D2 terror suspect Ali Salim Gichunge’s mother has been released on a Sh1 million bail with an alternative bond of Sh2 million. Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku, Sakina Mariam Abdalla was charged with failing to disclose information to police about Gichunge’s whereabouts. Kisumu International Airport run way will remain closed for the next 10 days, starting Monday, March 18, for scheduled maintenance. The maintenance, which is aimed at improving the airport’s infrastructure, is set to end on March 28. Following the flight disruptions, Kenya Airways has announced major changes on its flight operations. Nine suspects linked to series of robbery with violence and sexual assault incidents at Maseno University have been arrested. According to the Director of Criminal Investigations, detectives acting on a tip-off nabbed the suspects on Sunday. The government of Kenya has approved release of Sh2 billion to facilitate mitigation of drought that has affected 13 counties. Speaking on Monday, Deputy President William Ruto said the funds will be channeled to the affected areas to compliment county governments in saving lives. “The funds will ensure adequate distribution of food and life-saving aid to needy populations, water trucking and complement first –line intervention by county governments,” DR Ruto said.
