Nairobi County Government is counting millions in losses after striking workers reportedly switched off electricity paralyzing operations at City Hall Annex, Nairobi. Business Daily reported that the Wednesday power outage affected the centre offices and departments including the director of revenue and cash offices. National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended the Green Line Bus Company operator’s licence following a deadly crash last week. The Sunday accident killed 9 people and left three others injured after the bus – registration number KBN 701N – collided head on with a lorry at Kamara area on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway. An accident occurred on Wednesday morning at Miritini area near the new Standard Gauge Railway station in Mombasa County. According to an eyewitness account, a truck carrying sand lost control and hit the sides of a tunnel at Dongo Kundu bypass. A police Officer has joined a list of Kenyans who have donated to a 26-year old man who attempted to smuggle daughter from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) over lack of money to clear hospital bill. Commission for University Education (CUE) has cleared the air over universities offering illegal courses. According to CUE Chief Executive Officer Mwenda Ntarangwi, the commission is working closely with institutions whose courses have not been approved to have the illegality corrected. National Land Commission has declared that Deputy President William Ruto must compensate Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) for Weston Hotel land. According to outgoing NLC Vice Chair Abigael Mbagaya, the compensation must meet the current market value to enable KCAA buy land of similar size and value.
