    Call for Participation: ANLoc Software Localisation Training

    The African Network for Localisation (ANLoc) – Training sub-project is calling for participation in three of its upcoming software localisation training events.

    ANLoc’s mission is to empower Africans to participate in the digital age by removing the last inch limitations imposed on language usage by the limitation of technology.

    The Training sub-project addresses the need for local localisation skills and runs training courses for local African language practitioners to empower themselves in the software translation process.

    English training will be hosted by Kasahorow in Ghana from 30 Nov to 3 Dec; French training will be hosted by the Malian Association of Linux Users (AMUL) in Mali from 6 to 9 Dec and Arabic training will be hosted by Arabize in Egypt from 10 to 13 Dec. By the end of each training, participants will be able to localise existing Free Open Source applications into their own local languages.

    Participants can register by downloading, filling the application form http://www.africanlocalisation.net/call-participation-software-localisation-training and emailing it to training@africanlocalisation.net by 12 November 2010. Subject title ‘Training Application – [Language – Location] Please choose the language and location of the training you choose to attend.

    Successful applicants will be notified by 16 November 2010.
