Cabinet Secretary for Education Julius Migos Ogamba has announced new appointments in several education institutions through a Gazette Notice dated September 26.
Ogamba appointed Zephania Koech as a member of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) for a four-year term.
At the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE), he reappointed Kennedy Otieno, Stephen Kubai, Josephat Kemboi, and Saida Ali Aden to serve for another three years.
He also named Dr. Pius Kimani Mutisya as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) for three years. Members of the Board appointed for the same period include Dr. Florah Fedha, Dr. Joseph Wambua, Allan Sitima, Abdijibar Sanay, Jenniffer Bosibori, Joseph Magudah Okhaba, Betty Abiero, and Tom Ngeri.
At the Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI), Dr. Edna Musyoki was appointed to the Council for three years, while Dr. Lucy Jepchoge Rono was named to the Board of Directors of the National Biosafety Authority, also for three years.
Meanwhile, Attorney-General Dorcas Oduor also made key appointments at the Kenya School of Law. She appointed Bernard Kipkoech Ngetich and Dr. Tom Ratemo as members of the Board for four years. Both were also named to serve as members of the School’s Board of Directors for the same period.
