    Early Life

David Clayton Henrie was born on July 11, 1989, in Mission Viejo, California.

He is the son of talent manager Linda Henrie and producer James Wilson Henrie. When David was two years old, the family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he spent much of his childhood.

Inspired by industry professionals who recognized his talent at an early age, his family moved back to California so he could pursue acting. Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles, Henrie landed his first commercial roles before studying acting, improvisation, theater, and scene work.

His younger brother, Lorenzo James Henrie, also became an actor.

    Early Acting Career

Henrie began appearing on television in 2002 with guest roles on Providence and Without a Trace.

At just 13 years old, he landed his first starring television role as Petey Pitt in the Fox sitcom The Pitts. Although the series lasted only one season, it introduced him to a wider audience.

He continued building his résumé with appearances in numerous popular television series, including:

    • Judging Amy
    • NCIS
    • House
    • Cold Case
    • Method & Red

He also played Larry in Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven, marking the beginning of his long relationship with Disney.

Henrie’s biggest breakthrough arrived in 2007 when he was cast as Justin Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place.

Starring alongside Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, and David DeLuise, Henrie portrayed the intelligent and responsible eldest Russo sibling.

The Emmy Award-winning series became one of Disney Channel’s most successful sitcoms, running for four seasons between 2007 and 2012.

Henrie reprised his role in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie before returning years later as Justin Russo in Disney’s sequel series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. He also serves as an executive producer on the revival, expanding his responsibilities beyond acting.

During the original series, Henrie also wrote two episodes, demonstrating an early interest in storytelling behind the scenes.

Henrie has also invested in California real estate.

In 2013, he purchased a home in Encino, California, for approximately $1.1 million. The eco-friendly property featured smart-home technology, energy-efficient upgrades, and modern amenities.
