    Decomposing body of man found in house after suspected murder in Riruta

    A 23-year-old man was found dead in his house after suspected murder in Riruta, Nairobi.

    Residents said they had been disturbed by foul smell from Robert Kinyua’s house before they stumbled on his body on Tuesday evening.

    Police who visited the scene said the body had stab wounds on the collarbone and right thigh.

    The assailants are yet to be known. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.

    Elsewhere in Borabu, Nyamira County, one Evans Nyakururu was found dead in a tea plantation after an attack.

    Police said the body had visible injuries when it was discovered on Tuesday. The motive of the murder is yet to be known. The body was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

    A suspect was later arrested over the murder, police said.

    In Masii, Machakos County, the body of Simon Mutula, 42 was found on the roadside after suspected murder.

    The deceased’s body had both legs and one right hand broken. The man seemed to have been killed at the scene, police said.

    The body also had a deep cut on the forehead with blood oozing from the nose as well as some bruises on the waist and dragging injuries at the back of the head, police said.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be known.

    The body was moved to Machakos Funeral Home awaiting postmortem.

    Meanwhile, a man was killed as he harvested stones for ballast at Kibae quarry site within Kandara, Muranga County.

    Witnesses said the quarry collapsed, fatally trapping James Gatei, 52.

    A second man was injured and rushed to hospital in serious condition.

    Police said they are investigating the tragedy.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

    Police have warned locals against venturing there for the stones.
