    Early Life

Don Most was born Donald Most on August 8, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. Raised in the Flatbush neighborhood in a Jewish family, he attended Erasmus Hall High School before enrolling at Lehigh University.

Initially planning to pursue engineering, Most later switched to business studies. However, his growing passion for acting led him to leave college before graduation. During the summer of 1973, he began auditioning for acting roles and quickly landed the opportunity that would change his life.

    Breakthrough With Happy Days

Most’s big break came in 1974 when he was cast as Ralph Malph on ABC’s Happy Days. The sitcom, set in the 1950s and early 1960s, became one of television’s biggest hits and launched the careers of several cast members.

Ralph Malph, known for his quick jokes and loyal friendship with Richie Cunningham and Potsie Weber, became a fan favorite. Most appeared in the majority of the show’s run, starring alongside Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Tom Bosley, Marion Ross, and Anson Williams.

The series aired for 11 seasons and 255 episodes, becoming one of the defining sitcoms of its era. Most left the show after its seventh season but returned for guest appearances during the final season.

In 2011, Most joined several former castmates in a lawsuit against CBS over unpaid merchandising revenue connected to Happy Days. The dispute was ultimately settled, with the actors receiving compensation and future merchandise participation rights.
