Durex Recalls Real Feel Condoms Batches Over Durability Concerns

Durex has recalled the Real Feel condoms over results showing that they did not pass the shelf-durability test.

The company posted on their media page saying certain products sold in the UK, Poland and Ireland do not meet the international ISO standards. ​

“Our internal testing has shown that a limited number of non-latex Real Feel condoms may not meet the international ISO standard throughout their shelf life,” said Durex.

The batches with expiry dates between December 2020 and February 2021 have been recalled as they may become unsafe to use as they approach their expiry date.

“Our condoms are intended to provide a method of contraception and prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) through a non-latex barrier that offers a benefit to consumers sensitive to latex.” durex added,

“Only for the batches of condoms affected by this issue, there could be an increase in the number of condoms that burst during application or use.”

They posted a warning in newspapers as well, asking customers and vendors to return any of the products purchased.

The batches being recalled include 1000433144, 1000438055 and 1000422259. They say that no other Durex products have been affected.

In any case of condom leaks or bursts during use, Durex has advised customers to seek medical attention as soon as possible, no later than 72 hours.

They added that all those who have bought the affected batch should return it for full compensation of their money.
