Federico has two siblings, Francesco Pellegrino and Alice Pellegrino.

He was born as the second of these three siblings, raised in the supportive environment of the Aosta Valley.

While his brothers are not prominent public figures or involved in professional sports like Federico, the family dynamic has been described in biographical notes as part of his early life in Nus.

His breakthrough came with consistent podium finishes, and he captured the sprint World Cup Crystal Globe in 2016 and again in 2021.

Pellegrino has competed in multiple Olympic Winter Games, earning silver medals in the sprint events, and has medaled repeatedly at FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, including a gold in the freestyle sprint at Lahti in 2017.

With the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics approaching in his home region, Pellegrino has expressed ambitions for a strong farewell performance before retiring.
