Kenyans will pay less for fuel this month after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced a reduction in the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

In the new review released on Monday, the price of super petrol has dropped by Sh1.95 to retail at Sh174.63 per litre, diesel has gone down by Sh2.20 to Sh164.86, while kerosene has been reduced by Sh2.40 to Sh148.99.

The new prices take effect from Tuesday, April 15, and will remain in place until May 14, 2025.

EPRA said the price cut is due to a drop in the cost of imported fuel.

The average landed cost of petrol went down by 4.89%, diesel by 6.45%, and kerosene by 6.53% in March 2025.

The authority clarified that the new pump prices include 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) as outlined in the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and revised excise duty rates adjusted for inflation.
