A man was hacked to death in a robbery incident in Kibera slums, Nairobi.

Police said the deceased, identified as Hassan Issa, 29 was in the company of his girlfriend when they were confronted and assaulted by a gang of about ten on Tuesday July 22.

He was rushed to hospital where he died while being attended to, police said.

Police said they are investigating murder in the saga. No arrest has been made so far but a team of detectives is pursuing the saga, police said adding an autopsy is planned on the body.

Meanwhile, two suspected thieves were stoned to death before their bodies were set on fire in Uthiru area, Nairobi.

The incident happened along Mukiri Road after the two had been chased for a short while in the Tuesday July 22 drama.

A motorbike that they were using was also set on fire by the angry mob.

Police said the suspects were accused of breaking into a boutique shop with the intent to steal before an alarm was raised.

They were later caught up and stoned to death before being set on fire.

Police arrived at the scene and collected the remains to the mortuary. Police discourage mob lynching and term the trend criminal.

And police in Thika are investigating claims a patient was assaulted at the Thika Level Five Hospital.

The patient was found with burns while at the hospital on July 22.

According to the family, the patient has been at the hospital for more than a month.

Police officers visited the hospital and found that the patient who had no permanent residence had serious injuries on his upper part of the body.

It was further established that he sneaked out of the hospital ward on July 18 at around 1400hrs where he had been held over non-payment of hospital bill and entered into the hospital staff quarter and as he tried to jump over the perimeter wall to evade the bill.

He was seen by the staff who raised alarm that he was one of the thieves who had been stealing their chicken fleeing.

The hospital employees responded and subjected him to beating.

He sustained burns from inflammable spirit on his upper part of his body, which includes neck, chest, stomach and at the back.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
