George Conway III was born on September 2, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts. His mother was a Filipino organic chemist, and his father worked for the defense contractor Raytheon. Conway attended Marlborough High School and later graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in biochemistry in 1984. He then attended Yale Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1987.
