A 17-year-old girl was found murdered and her body dumped in a thicket in Kivi area, Kangundo, Machakos County.
The motive of the murder of the girl is yet to be established, police said. The body was found Sunday evening in the area by locals who called police.
Police said the body was naked and had visible head injuries when it was found. The deceased was a student at Imilini Secondary School in the area.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said adding no arrest had been made over the murder.
Elsewhere in Diani, Kwale County, a 60-year-old German national was found dead in his room.
The cause of the death of Frank Kibling was not immediately established, police said.
Police said they were informed of the incident by a caretaker of the houses where the man and other tenants live that the foreigner was dead.
The body was found sprawled on the sofa set. The door to the house was partially closed then, police said.

In Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County, one Mercy Achieng Onyango, 29 was found dead in her house, police said.

Police said they were informed he accidentally fell into a gold mining shaft and died. Other miners managed to retrieve the body before calling the police.

Such deaths are common at gold mining sites in the country amid calls for safety measures for the miners.
