Burundian right full back Karim Nizigiyimana has disclosed that through Gor Mahia, Ambrose Rachier, the club’s president, bought him a house in Burundi.

Karim mutually parted ways with K’Ogalo Friday after four successful seasons of dedicated service which saw him bag three Kenyan Premier League titles plus numerous other accolades.

“I can’t go without saying special thanks to Chairman Ambrose Rachier,” the Swallows skipper told the club’s official website.

“He embraced me, he was a father to me, and he treated me like his own son and stood by me when I was injured and out of active football for many months.

I have a house he bought for me through the club in Burundi and every time I will be seeing that house, I will be seeing Chairman Rachier.

The respect and good relationship that existed between us will last forever,” he disclosed.

Karim, whose contract was due to end in January next year, spent the better part of the 2018 season nursing an ankle injury which he sustained in a league match against Mathare United late last year.

His best season with Gor Mahia was in 2015 when they won the league unbeaten and was named defender of the year under British manager Frank Nuttall.

“Karim served the club so well. He dedicated his time and helped the cclub achieve the best. This is one player that was so instrumental and I truly appreciate him for the time he was at the club as well as for the good services he offered. We wish him all the best,” Rachier was quoted by the club’s website.

Karim’s departure solves the KPL’s foreigners’ quota headache that the club had to grapple with after signing Ugandan forward Erisa Ssekisambu to take their tally to six.

KPL allows only five foreign players per club.

Karim competitively played 106 times for Gor Mahia – 84 of the games being in the league.
