Gor Mahia have ended their pursuit for the signature of Rayon Sports forward Caleb Bimenyimana after the mighty TP Mazembe of the DRC outbid them.

According to Kahawa Tungu sources, the reigning champions tabled an offer of $35,000 for the 21-year-old which was way less than what Mazembe was reportedly offering.

The five-time African champions is said to have tabled a salivating deal worth $100,000 with a monthly salary of $4,000 on top.

The Burundian was also on the radar of Nigeria’s Enyimba, who were reportedly willing to part with $60,000 to get his services.

Bimenyimana scored Rayon’s lone goal against Yanga SC of Tanzania as the Rwandan side sailed through to the CAF Confederations Cup quarters for the first time this season.

Gor have since settled for Ugandan Erissa Ssekisambu who they signed Wednesday on a two-year-contract.

The record 17-time Kenyan champions are expected to sign more players Thursday as they bolster their squad for next season beginning early December.

The team departs Nairobi for the UK Friday ahead of next week’s international friendly against Everton at Goodison Park.
