    High Court Suspends Order To Switch Off NTV, Citizen And KTN News

    The High court has ordered the communications authority to restore the live transmission of television stations that were switched off on January 30.

    Justice Chacha Mwita ordered the signal of the TV stations to be restored after a case was filed by activist Okiya Omtatah saying that the order was in contravention of article 34 of the constitution.

    The order comes just a day after Interior CS said that the television stations will remain closed pending investigations that some of the media house were actively involved in illegal activities.

    Three media houses were switched  Citizen, NTV and KTN News were shut down following the ir decision to cover the proceedings of the swearing in ceremony of Raila Odinga as the the peoples president. The CS termed the ceremony as an illegal activity.

    The case will be heard on February 14.
