The Standard Bank SIM card is designed to make banking and communication more convenient for customers. It allows users to access mobile banking services, make calls, send messages, and stay connected while managing their finances. One of the most common tasks users need to do is checking their airtime or data balance. Whether you’re using the Standard Bank Mobile network for calls or internet bundles, checking your balance is quick and easy. Here’s a simple guide on how to check your balance on a Standard Bank SIM card.

    1. Check Balance Using USSD Code

The easiest way to check your balance on a Standard Bank SIM card is through a USSD code. This method works even without an internet connection and gives you instant results.

    • Unlock your phone and open the dial pad.
    • Dial *130*234# and press the call button.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to view your airtime and data balance.

Your remaining airtime, data, and SMS balance will be displayed on the screen immediately. You can also use this menu to buy more airtime, check bundles, or transfer airtime to another number.

    1. Check Balance Through the Standard Bank Mobile App

If you have a smartphone, you can check your balance using the Standard Bank Mobile App. This option allows you to monitor both your SIM card usage and your linked bank account from one platform.

    • Download and install the Standard Bank App from Google Play or the App Store.
    • Log in using your online banking credentials or register if you don’t have an account yet.
    • Go to the “Mobile Services” or “Standard Bank Mobile” section.
    • Select “View Balance” or “Airtime & Data” to see your remaining airtime and bundles.

The app also gives you access to detailed usage history and recharge options using your linked bank account.

    1. Check Balance via SMS

Another easy way to check your balance is through an SMS request. Simply open your messaging app and type the word BALANCE. Send the message to the number provided by Standard Bank Mobile, usually 140 or 180 (depending on your region).

You’ll receive an instant reply showing your airtime, data, and SMS balance. Standard SMS rates may apply, so make sure you have enough airtime before using this method.

    1. Check Balance Online

You can also check your balance through the Standard Bank Mobile website.

    • Visit the official Standard Bank Mobile page on your browser.
    • Log in with your mobile number and password.
    • Navigate to the Account Summary or Balance section.

Here, you’ll be able to view your usage details, recharge history, and available bundles. This is convenient if you prefer managing your account on a computer or tablet.

    1. Contact Customer Care

If you experience any difficulty checking your balance, you can contact Standard Bank Mobile customer care for help.

    • Dial 135 from your Standard Bank SIM card (this call is usually free).
    • Follow the voice prompts or speak to an agent.
    • The agent can confirm your balance and help resolve any SIM-related issues.

You can also visit a Standard Bank branch or send an inquiry through their online chat service for further assistance.

    1. Keep Track of Your Usage

To avoid running out of airtime or data unexpectedly, it’s a good idea to check your balance regularly. You can also set up auto-recharge options in the app or through your bank account to top up automatically when your balance drops below a certain level.
