Peacocks are known for their colorful feathers and graceful appearance. Drawing a peacock can be fun, especially if you enjoy adding bright colours and patterns. With a few basic steps, you can create a simple peacock drawing that looks beautiful and elegant. Here is how to draw peacock.
- Draw the Head and Neck
Start with a small circle for the peacock’s head. From the bottom of the circle, draw a long, curved neck going downward and then slightly back up. The neck should look like the number “2” turned sideways. At the top of the head, add a short beak pointing forward.
- Add the Crest
On top of the head, draw three to five short lines with little circles at the ends. This is the peacock’s crest. It looks like a small crown and adds a royal touch to your drawing.
- Draw the Body
From the neck, draw an oval shape for the peacock’s body. Make the back of the body wider and rounder than the front to show the bird’s form.
- Sketch the Legs
Draw two thin legs going downward from the body. Add three toes pointing forward and one pointing backward for each foot. You can keep the legs simple or add small lines for the joints.
- Draw the Tail Base
At the back of the peacock’s body, start drawing the base of the tail with curved lines. These lines should fan out from the body like a half-circle.
- Add the Feathers
From the base, draw long, rounded feather shapes spreading out in a wide fan shape. You can draw as many feathers as you like, making sure they are evenly spaced.
- Decorate the Feathers
Inside each feather, draw a small eye-like circle or teardrop shape. This is the “eye” pattern that makes peacock feathers look so special. Add smaller details like lines or dots to make them stand out.
- Colour the Peacock
Use bright colours like blue for the head and neck, green for the body, and a mix of green, blue, and gold for the feathers. Make the feather eyes colourful with blue and yellow.
