    Instagram allows users to remove messages from conversations using the unsend feature. This can be useful if you sent a message by mistake, shared incorrect information, or simply changed your mind. Learning how to unsend a message on Instagram helps you manage your conversations more carefully and maintain better control over your messages. With a few simple steps, you can remove a message from both sides of the chat.

      Toggle
      • Open the Instagram App
      • Go to Your Messages
      • Press and Hold the Message
      • Select the “Unsend” Option
      • Review the Conversation

      Open the Instagram App

    Start by opening Instagram on your phone or device and logging into your account if necessary.

    Make sure you have an active internet connection.

    • Launch the Instagram app
    • Sign in to your account
    • Check your internet connection
    1. Go to Your Messages

    Tap the messages or direct message icon to open your conversations.

    Select the chat containing the message you want to remove.

    • Open direct messages
    • Choose the correct conversation
    • Locate the message carefully
    1. Press and Hold the Message

    Find the specific message you want to unsend and press and hold it.

    A menu with different options will appear.

    • Tap and hold the message
    • Wait for the options menu
    • Avoid selecting the wrong message
    1. Select the “Unsend” Option

    Tap the “Unsend” option to remove the message from the conversation.

    The message will disappear for both you and the recipient.

    • Select “Unsend”
    • Confirm the action if prompted
    • Wait for the message to disappear
    1. Review the Conversation

    After unsending the message, check the conversation to ensure it was removed successfully.

    Keep in mind that the recipient may have already seen the message before it was unsent.

    • Confirm the message is gone
    • Continue the conversation normally
    • Be careful with future messages
