The Government of Hungary has offered 200 scholarships to Kenyan students for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The scholarship programme, known as the Stipendium Hungaricum, is being administered through the Tempus Public Foundation in partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Education.

In a public notice released on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Ministry announced that the scholarships are available for Bachelor’s, Master’s, One-Tier Master’s and PhD studies in universities across Hungary.

“The awards are tenable at Hungary Universities,” the notice reads.

The Ministry stated that online applications will open on November 15, 2025, and will be submitted through the portal: https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the Ministry’s website, www.education.go.ke, under the scholarship section for more information on requirements and the application process.

The online application window will close on January 15, 2026.

Applicants will also be required to submit their applications to the Ministry of Education by January 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

The government encouraged eligible students to take advantage of the opportunity to study in Hungary.
