Suspect in the killing of 28 year old Monica Kimani, Joe Irungu alias Jowie was emotional after his mother showed up in court on Monday.
Jowie was appearing before High court judge Jessie Lessit to take a plea. Both he and his fiancee Jacque Maribe pleaded not guilty to killing Ms Kimani.
Last week his mother spoke to NTV’s Dennis Okari who he told that they have since his arrest been living in fear.
She also recounted events leading to his arrest as told by her son, who before the murder worked in the UAE and was planning on starting his own security business in Kenya.
Judge Lessit directed that the bail application be mentioned on Wednesday, October 17 before another judge who will then set a different date for the hearing of the bail application.

In the meantime, he will be remanded at the Industrial Area Prison and Jacque at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
