    Juana Acosta is a Colombian-Spanish actress born on November 28, 1976, in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia.

    She has built a distinguished career in both film and television, blending her Colombian roots with her professional life primarily in Spain.

    Acosta moved to Spain in the late 1990s and has since become a prominent figure in the Spanish entertainment industry.

    She was previously married to actor Ernesto Alterio, with whom she shares a daughter named Lola, born in 2006.

    On the big screen, she has delivered memorable performances in international films such as Carlos (2010), where she portrayed a supporting character, Perfect Strangers (2017), and the drama Anna (2015), which showcased her leading capabilities.

    Over nearly three decades, Acosta has amassed more than 60 credits across film, television, and theater, often collaborating with renowned directors.

    In 2012, Acosta won the Award of the Spanish Actors Union for Best Supporting Performance in Television for her role in Crematorio.

    Her performance in the TV movie Sanctuary earned her the FIPA d’Or for Best Actress at the 28th Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisual Programming in 2015.

    The following year, in 2016, Acosta received the Macondo Award for Best Actress for her titular role in Anna.

    She was also nominated for Best Actress at the 3rd Fénix Awards and the 4th Platino Awards in 2017 for the same film.

    In 2021, she garnered nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Film at both the 8th Feroz Awards and the 35th Goya Awards.

    More recently, in 2023, Acosta was awarded the Special International Career Achievement Award at the 62nd Cartagena Film Festival, recognizing her enduring impact on the industry.
