Jubilee officials in Shinyalu have been receiving threats ever since they cast their ballots on October 26, Benedict Sabala has revealed.
The Jubilee party Shinyalu branch chairman said that he and others who exercised their democratic right during the fresh elections have received messages indicating that they would have their fingers cut off, specially the one marked with the indelible ink.
”We know some leaders from the opposition were planning to attack us and we have informed the security agencies, but no action was taken.”
He further accused the IEBC officials of telling the opposition leaders how they voted. He says that NASA supporters have threatened to set ablaze their homes.
”We have received threats that our houses will be burnt. This has prompted us to send our wives and children into hiding until the situation cools down.”
”Election officials alerted our opponents on how we voted, which saw youths attack us at Khayega market,” he said.
A Jubilee party agent at Khayega Primary school, Patrick Anguba was also roughed up by youths for taking part in what the opposition has referred to as a ‘shambolic election.’
According to Mr Anguba, the unruly youths stole from him and at one point threatened to unzip his trousers.
